In my last post I expressed how nervous I was about traveling with our little girl. However, to my surprise, traveling with her was smooth like butter! She was a breeze to be with; a lovely companion. We visited museums, hopped on tour buses, walked miles everyday aimlessly to find quaint neighborhoods and she loved all of it. I loved all of it. What a wonderful week we had. I did not feel like coming back – AT ALL. But all good things come to an end. So here we are.. back in Orlando city!
I have a confession to make. For the very first time, in ages (or I guess.. ever!!) we traveled without our camera. This has never happened before. Never. Specially since I started blogging, we’ve always carried my camera, but this time was different with little missy accompanying us. Though that did not stop me from clicking pictures on my phone. Ha! 🙂
I’m still sorting out pictures from our trip to post here on the blog. And I promise, the next post will have tons of travel pictures but for today, you’ll have to do with these pink shoes. Ha! After pink pants, who could’ve thought I’ll jump on to pink shoes so soon! But then again.. never say never! To be frank I’ve decided that from now on, I will try something unusual every time I dress up – just to be creative. Anything which I normally wouldn’t wear, or think of. All I can tell you is that I’m going to have some fun with my wardrobe. Like I said in my last post, fashion is supposed to be enjoyed. We need to make clothes work for us, and not the other way round. I’m a mum now.. so comfort is the key!

While I am on a 10-day vacation, I might as well put up a post! To be frank, I rarely ever, ever fire up my laptop when I am vacationing. I even don’t check my phone for hours on a stretch (no kidding..!!). I believe I can live with out social networking, it’s just a mode to pass time for me. Only when I have nothing else to do, no where else to go, I check my social network channels. Thankfully, I am not it’s slave (well, not yet).
Posting a few pictures from today. It’s quite hot and humid here (in D.C.) – < as compared to Boston > and wearing light dresses is the best way to beat the heat!

Told yaa.. Flares rule!
If you are a regular follower of Rising Colors blog, by now you would know that I have a clean and minimal way of dressing. Too many accessories in one outfit is just not my thing. I opt for clean sophisticated look which has at least one statement piece. Sometimes I let the shoes speak, sometimes it’s the jewelery i am wearing and most of the time it’s the choice of my bag which screams attention in an outfit. You see.. what I mean..
Anyways, this was quite a gray day with no sunshine and leftover snow <eeekkk..>! Layering is the key these days.. Please stay warm in which ever part of the world you are.. I am sending lots of warm wishes and hugs to you all 🙂
P.S. I am in love with these slim flare jeans. They add a good two inches to my height! Win.. win..!!

There is something I want to share here that I am really obsessed about these days. You see I am trying really hard to get the best possible skin I’ve ever had. This obsession started as soon as I came back from India. My skin was breaking out so often, it was dry, patchy and so, so dull. Frankly I started avoiding looking straight in to the mirror. I am a firm believer that ideally you should not need a Foundation (on a daily basis). Your original skin must be clean, clear and glowing. It’s not that I don’t use make-up or Foundations. I do, but only on very special occasions. I don’t even Photoshop or touch the pictures I put on the blog. I like the raw nature of my pictures. I like to wear my skin bare 95% of the times. But now, no amount of make-up was helping either. The breakouts were extremely red, bumpy and painful. They were all over my face. I was helpless. 😦
I then decided to take charge and do something about it. Because I was sure that it was not my diet or lifestyle. Since I work out religiously, eat clean, sleep well then what the hell was going wrong! Then I booked an appointment and paid a visit to a dermatologist. She then told me sometimes it’s the hormones. There was nothing wrong from my end… sometimes it’s just how your body is changing. So she gave me some oral tablets to re-balance the hormones and a medicated ointment to apply on my face daily. That really helped. It made my facial skin go back to normal. Since then I have been taking reeeeally good care of my skin. I changed all my (skincare) products stash! From drugstore cheap ones I switched to very good quality high-end products (for which I will be doing reviews very soon). And that really worked. I feel so much better now. 🙂 I also installed an app on my phone which helps me keep track of how much water I drink during the day (isn’t it cool..??)
Sometimes, we tend to neglect the importance of something until we realize it’s gone. My skin never used to breakout like that. No redness, no dryness ever. But then ageing happens. Years go by and you lose the elasticity of your skin, the soft and supple texture. Hence, extra care is required. And it’s better to start early. There is no harm in trying & testing. Go lookout for yourself. After all, your skin does not have to show your real age! Who wants to age anyway..??
Ok yeah.. yeah.. I get it. We all must age naturally. We all must age gracefully and I am totally up for it! However, taking care of yourself is important too. I say do it, if you love yourself!
