This Halloween

This Halloween was quite special! Reason being we (moi and husband) were invited to an amazing Halloween party! Secondly, I had nothing to wear (as usual hehe..) so, I used my creativity to come up with something special using the clothes I already own in my closet.
And if you canโ€™t tell, I dressed up as a Bollywood actress! I had all the bling and glamour in place ๐Ÿ˜‰
Being said that, this idea (or outfit) will work on any other occasion too! What I did was simply swapped my Sari blouse with a sequined top and draped the Sari a little differently (wearing the Pallu like a Stole)! Remember when I wore this Sari before here? I am wearing the same Sari in this post but styled it completely differently.

So ladies โ€“ let your creative juices flow and think of reviving your old Saris and make good use of them! What say? Now you know why I gave you the hint of not getting over Saris ๐Ÿ˜›

Traditionally Done

There are very rare occasions when I wear traditional Indian outfits. Yesterday was one of them. It’s just that I don’t feel very comfortable in Indian outfits. There is too much going on for me, and as you know me, I am a minimalist! Stacking up jewelry or OD-ing is just not my cup of tea.. I try to keep it less, no matter what!

Anyways, so what was I saying – yes, yesterday Mom and I went to a Gurudwara (Sikh temple). Hence, I chose to dress up in this pretty dress. No wonder Mr. Husband was all over me!! He love me this way.. So here you go, enjoy a few pictures on a Monday! As I said before, don’t worry, this too shall pass ๐Ÿ™‚

Another Day, Another Dress

Hello everyone! It feels good to be back on this page after almost two weeks. Such breaks are not bad at all, after all who doesnโ€™t enjoy a little time off?
Truth be told, this short break was completely unintentional as I was very busy in arranging stuff, shopping, attending countless weddings, packing bags and then finally flying back to Phoenix. I barely had the time to switch my computer on and write a blog! Anyhow, better late than never..
So, if you don’t follow Rising Colors on Facebook yet, (which you totally SHOULD), <a href="http://www.blogger.com/%3Cdiv%20id=%22fb-root%22%3E%3C/div%3E%20%3Cscript%3E(function(d,%20s,%20id)%20%7B%20var%20js,%20fjs%20=%20d.getElementsByTagName(s)%5B0%5D;%20if%20(d.getElementById(id))%20return;%20js%20=%20d.createElement(s);%20js.id%20=%20id;%20js.src%20=%20%22//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

” target=”_blank”>you would not know that we flew back to Phoenix this weekend and that is how our 6 week-long vacation in India came to an end.. I was busy packing last week and this week unpacking is killing me (On that note, packing and unpacking are the two activities I completely DISLIKE)..
Anyways.. I am keeping it short today, though believe me I have so, so much to share with you all. I โ€˜ll be back with a lot of updates from my India trip.

On the outfit part, I wore this lovely Anarkali dress for a wedding in Delhi. This is one of my many purchases from India. I love the frock style cut of this dress, and the fact it is pure cotton makes it even more comfortable. The high collar adds an extra oomph to the outfit. Enjoy a few pics (and excuse the quality of the pictures, as these were not clicked with a very good camera).
P.S. Meet my sister-in-law (last picture) who has accompanied us to Phoenix. I look forward to spend great time with her!

Cheers!
Ritika

Flowing the ethnic way

Skirt Power! These pictures were taken in Kanpur (my home town) before me and my sister headed to CCD for a chilling coffee and my favorite dessert – Chocolate Fantasy with hot chocolate sauce. Slurrrrp!!

Yes, I piled on some calories by this pure indulgence, but who cares, when such yummy looking things are created by God for us. ๐Ÿ˜‰
A full flowing skirt enjoyed me and vice versa. I love the neck details of the orange blouse. And the colors were perfect for a summer outing.
Mr. Summer is getting fiery! So how are you going to give it back to him? – I’m going the flowy skirt way!
I have kept the accesories to bare minimum due to the humidity in the atmosphere. Just could not load on to anything! I am oh so over summers.. now.. need some rain badly.
Please do tell me, how do you like my outfit – Yay or Nay?

And yes, for pre-post teasers and other updates, please like my Facebook page.
Happy reading!

Cheers
Ritika
