Crisp Mornings

Who ever told me that Florida does not experience Fall season, literally lied. On my face. Ofcourse we are not talking about leaves shedding or turning orange, red and yellow. All I’m saying is the weather has changed. The wind is crisp, the mornings and evenings are very, very pleasant. You can still do without layers and have fun out in the open. That’s all I ever wanted. A break from the heat. And now I have it. Thank you God!  🙂
After spending major part of my pregnancy during the hot and humid months, this pleasant change in the weather is a big relief.
Embracing black lace (and my handsome husband 😉 ) on the blog today.

Wishful Thinking

Being an Indian, I do not wear as many Indian dresses as I should. However this past weekend, I wore one of the dresses gifted by my mom. (Thanks mom, love you!).
As the pregnancy is progressing, my discomforts are also increasing. The ‘special assistance’ needed in getting up, lying down, tying up shoes etc. is so inconvenient. I may not look huge in my pictures, but I feel HUGE. Seriously. And if you trust the scales, so far I’ve gained 22 pounds (10 kgs) since becoming pregnant (not bad.. eh!!). So obviously, I’m bound to feel gigantic. And in these remaining 7 weeks, baby is expected to gain more weight (fat), so let’s see how that goes!
Well, truth be told, I’m tired.
Tired of being pregnant.
Tired of looking for someone to tie my shoes for me.
Tired of not being able to workout.
Tired of having to take breaks and slow down every now and then.
Tired of huffing and puffing like an 80 year old.
Tired of the frequent bathroom visits. Sometimes its false alarm, which makes it even more annoying!
Tired of the back pain.
Tired of just feeling tired.
I just want these 40 weeks to go by fast and the baby to pop out. On time ofcourse. No, I don’t want her to come ‘early’. I just want these last few weeks to ‘fly’!
Is that possible? Do wishes come true? Please say yes!

P.S. Completed 33 weeks of pregnancy today.
P.P.S. Thanks to my father in law for taking these bomb pictures of us. Thanks Dad!

The Real Story

The first thought that came in to my mind when I woke up today was (after spending the whole night rolling in bed, changing sides just to find that ‘one’ comfortable position) – ‘When people (or other women for that matter) learn about your pregnancy, nobody tells you about the real sh*t that happens during these (never ending) 9 months. All they do is congratulate you, and tell you what an amazing journey you are on.’
How deceiving! But I’ll tell you like it is. I won’t sugarcoat it.
Every month of these 9 months is different. And it keeps getting harder. Now that my 3rd trimester has started, I’ve been experiencing ailments which I did not even know existed. And I keep asking my mother, did you go through this as well, did you have these pains as well, or am I the only odd one..?? Of course, then she assures me, all this is normal and she went through these discomforts as well. This makes me come back to my original question, why does no one ever talk about it? Yes, I do like surprises, but not of these kinds! smh…
Yes, the result may be rewarding.. but the journey.. ehh.. not so much!
Moving on…
Continuing with my babymoon series from our Chicago vacation. It was a nice sunny afternoon that we spent outdoors just city surfing. Wearing a regular Shift dress from Old Navy.

Reached Halfway

That’s right folks I’m halfway through this pregnancy. Currently at 20 weeks and 6 days, I am looking forward for the rest of the months to pass faster. (I swear it feels like I’ve been pregnant for ages now!!). It’s not a hell lot of fun, I tell you. There are crappy days, there are energetic days, there are foodie days, and then there are just uneventful days (need not mention the mood swings). No two days are similar. The only constant factor are my workouts. I am holding on to it as tightly as possible. I don’t want to let go though laziness and fatigue keeps hovering over my head ready to hijack me, but I’m not ready to give in yet. Yes, I do take breaks, relax at a little, take naps as and when required. Nevertheless, my strength has diminished to half its capacity and so has my stamina. Breathlessness is so common, that sometimes I get breathless just by sitting on the couch watching TV (smh..)! Weird things happen during pregnancy. My body is changing rapidly and I have accepted it. Yes, I understand that everyone is different, everyone’s experience is different, but I am allowed to share mine. 😉
Anyways, its been quite a few weeks since my last post, so let me get you all on the same page here with what all that has happened in the past month!

This seems like ages ago. We went out for a movie that evening (followed by a finger licking Mexican dinner) when dear husband clicked this impromptu picture of mine. I think I was asking him if my bump was visible yet. Well, clearly it wasn’t that substantial then! 🙂

If you read my previous few blogs, you would know that my mom visited me for a month. This picture is from a hot sunny afternoon when I took her to visit the Ripley’s museum and few other local attractions. It doesn’t seem like it, but the skirt was a bad idea (it started feeling uneasy on the waist after a few hours). That is when I realized it was time to re-arrange my wardrobe.

Another day out with mother. We drove to St. Augustine on a hot Sunday to visit the very famous castle (google it). Accidentally we both wore blue (I promise it wasn’t planned).

You see how the bump is growing! Day after day I don’t realize much, but now that I am posting these pictures (in the order of occurrence), I am actually noticing the gradual change. This was taken when we went to La Madeleine for coffee and croissants and it started pouring cats and dogs! What a romantic evening it was..

This was taken on July 4th. I know, I know this is not much of a red, white and blue outfit (more of a blue and white outfit). I could have actually swapped my handbag (or shoes) in red color. Anyways, we had family visiting us and July 4th seemed a perfect idea for a picnic outdoors followed by scenic fireworks. Fun memories!

My birthday!!! As I said in my previous post, my birthday falls in July. I celebrated with family, ate a delicious Pizza dinner and exchanged lots of smiles. 🙂

This is my recent picture (taken last Saturday before heading out for burgers and fries). The bump is clearly visible now and I have started feeling very mild kicks!! Yayy!! 😀
