Love Your Body

If there is one thing in particular, that you might not have seen me wearing on the blog (like EVER) – it’s anything off-shoulders. I’ve always had heavy breasts (since my early twenties), which is why I never had the courage of wearing anything off the shoulders. (I also wrote a post on this topic a few years ago). I was afraid that my body won’t do justice to this style, or I would look funny, or what will people think. Guess what? I was wrong. So, so wrong. Look at me now! You might be wondering what changed?
Well, I gave birth. That is what changed. All the insecurities I ever had over my body – all went down the drain – just like that! I do not care anymore what others think of my body or how do my arms or my stomach looks in a particular dress. The only thing matters to me now is that ‘I’ should be satisfied with my clothing, ‘I’ should feel comfortable in it, ‘I’ should like it, ‘I’ should feel fit,. In short, ‘I’ am all that matters.
To think of it, this body created a life, survived a Cesarean section (yes, I had one), went through all the post operation trauma, breastfed and still survived. Isn’t it wonderful? And all I cared before was that my breasts were too curvy, well breaking news!! Now, they sag too. And on the contrary, I am even more grateful to my body – because it’s feeding my baby. And I fully accept the fact that my body has changed FOREVER. This realization is what made me strong. Now if I want to wear an off-shoulder dress or any other damn thing, you bet I’ll wear it!

Cheers..

Big Fat News

Hope my readers are still there in this virtual world somewhere, expecting a post from me (I so hope that). Well, not making you all wait any longer, let’s start to today’s post which is sort of a BIG FAT NEWS!!
Truthfully, I missed blogging badly (no, really!) but did not have the strength or the mojo to concentrate on my virtual existence. My body is going through one of the major (and wonderful) changes ever which is why it needed the extra TLC. Now that I am back to my ‘better’ self, I am more than happy to share with you all that I am Pregnant!! We are super excited. Beyond excited. Nervous. Proud. Happy. Hopeful. Impatient. And tons of other emotions which are hard for me to explain!
I always wondered how can you love someone even before you meet them. Is that even possible? Well, now I know. 🙂
While I go through this roller coaster of a wonderful journey, I have planned to make you all a part of it as well. As of today, I am 16 weeks pregnant (though these pictures are a few weeks old, hence the bump is not that noticeable). I will share some latest pictures in the next blogpost (pinky promise)!
Till then.. Take Care and Love to all!

Playful Stripes

I feel like I go in to this black hole every once in a while and then come out with shining colors with a post like this! Ha.. kidding! There is no hole, its just that life takes priority (and I am very lazy). Plus blogging is not my profession, so a little bit of irregularity does no harm to anyone. Right?
Life has been great lately. This year has brought a lot of changes in my life already (moving states, leaving job etc.), and set to bring many more. Time will tell.
In other news, I am growing out my hair. So right now, I have this awkward phase going on, which if seen by fashion police may land me up in fashion jail! So don’t get surprised if you see a lot of fedora’s and scarves covering my head for another few weeks. I don’t like getting caught. 😉
This dress is an oldie (like 2 years old.. maybe 3). But its the most comfortable maxi dress that I own. You can see why! And you know it very well that I don’t like to accessorize too much, specially in summers when it is too hot anyway to wear an extra piece around the neck or tons of bracelets in hands. I believe in ‘Less is More’. I like to let my outfit speak.
Till next time! Ta!!

Why I Love Hats

My love for hats is not new. Too often I wear hats (all kinds – mind you!) and share on the blog here. Today, let me tell you about why I love them so much –

  1. Hats save you on a bad hair day. No dry shampoo, gel or anything is required. Just put a hat on it. Need I say more?
  2. Hats make any outfit look more put together. Don’t believe me? Just try it for yourself.
  3. Hats add a unique character to your outfit and personality. You can choose what ever you want to be.. for example – a Parisian chic, a princess, a sexy cowgirl, a sailorsporty and what not!
  4. Hats protect you from the cold, sun and rain.
  5. Hats look cool, sexy and stylish! What else do you need?

P.S. Love this post on hats! Funny and a good read.
