Mehendi Dress

From a blogger point of view, none of the pictures from this shoot turned out well. None. Not one at all. Honestly, this never happens. If we click twenty, atleast five do come out decent. But some days the camera really doesn’t co-operate and apparently, it was one of those days. But when I uploaded the pictures on the computer, I kind of really liked them. I liked how raw they looked – absolutely real. This is me, most of the time – twirling, smiling, always fixing her hair – perfectly imperfect.
Wore this to a lunch and shopping date with my girlfriend and had a blast. When you are happy it shows on your face. It was super windy that evening and it also rained later. Perfect end to a perfect day.
This green shade is what we call ‘Mehendi green’ in Hindi. Mehendi means henna. And whenever I look at this color, it reminds me of beautiful Indian weddings when brides and grooms apply mehendi on their hands. So shall we call this dress the ‘mehendi dress’? Ya, let’s.
The dress is from JCPenney, sandals from Target and earrings are Old Navy.

Zesty

Would you believe me if I say that I still can’t come around the fact that I have a cute little daughter? A daughter who is cute like a button and oh, so adorable. I might sound like a broken record, but that is exactly how I feel. Every night when I put her to sleep in my arms and shower her with a thousand kisses, my eyes tear up. And every night I thank the supreme power for giving me the gift of motherhood. This is the MOST satisfying job in the world. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING else satisfies me more than holding her in my arms. I don’t think this feeling will ever get old. It has been more than 7 months and here I am, still standing in awe and wondering – how on earth my life turned in to this beautiful fairy tale!
In all honesty, every day is not like a fairy tale. Some days are longer (and harder) than others. But such is life – never the same. No two days are same – and that is how it should be.

Back in May

I know June is almost over and we are stepping in to July (my birth month aka the ‘best’ month 😉 ). But I have to share with you all that we went to Miami in the month of May to celebrate 5 blissful years of our marriage. Truth be told, I loved the getaway, but was uncomfortable most of the time. I was in my first trimester of the pregnancy hence my taste buds were horrible and exhaustion was at its peak. Plus the acne wasn’t helping either. The bump wasn’t much visible yet, hence I was able to wear all my usual stuff. The thing is, we planned this vacation a few months in advance so we did not want to cancel it. Nevertheless, all went well! Honestly, I love the fact that I am so close to beaches now that I live in Orlando. We spend every alternate Sunday on a beach.

This white dress was my choice for our date night. I wanted to keep it romantic yet simple.

The yellow and black color combo worked really well. I like how the yellow color strikes more with a black base.

This dress is my personal favorite for vacations. It’s light, sexy and summer appropriate. Sometimes I also wear it as a cover up over my bikini.

Nothing pleases me more than a maxi these days. The ease and comfort is what I look for when travelling. Specially now that I am pregnant, maxi dresses are the only thing that I want to wear, all the time. Can you blame me!

These are selfies. Unfortunately, I do not have a full length view of this dress. Anyhow, the off shoulder style gave my enough room to breath, feel sexy and enjoy the sunny weather! What more one could ask for? 😉

Playful Stripes

I feel like I go in to this black hole every once in a while and then come out with shining colors with a post like this! Ha.. kidding! There is no hole, its just that life takes priority (and I am very lazy). Plus blogging is not my profession, so a little bit of irregularity does no harm to anyone. Right?
Life has been great lately. This year has brought a lot of changes in my life already (moving states, leaving job etc.), and set to bring many more. Time will tell.
In other news, I am growing out my hair. So right now, I have this awkward phase going on, which if seen by fashion police may land me up in fashion jail! So don’t get surprised if you see a lot of fedora’s and scarves covering my head for another few weeks. I don’t like getting caught. 😉
This dress is an oldie (like 2 years old.. maybe 3). But its the most comfortable maxi dress that I own. You can see why! And you know it very well that I don’t like to accessorize too much, specially in summers when it is too hot anyway to wear an extra piece around the neck or tons of bracelets in hands. I believe in ‘Less is More’. I like to let my outfit speak.
Till next time! Ta!!
