Now is the time

I have a question for you. When you buy something new, say a dress or a pair of shoes or fancy napkins, do you wear (or use) it the next chance you get or you save it for a special occasion? I ask because for years I used to be one of those who would save new stuff for those special occasions which frankly do not come that often. A couple months ago, I finally let go of this habit. And it is has been life changing. I’m not exaggerating, seriously. It is so, so liberating to not save your favorite dinner set for special guests or that lovely dress for a special night. Live for TODAY. Today is the only moment you can be sure of. Past is gone and who knows what future holds. Right now is all that we have.

Again it was a super windy evening which is clearly evident from the pictures. This beautiful contrast trim blouse is from Target and the skirt is five years old. Bought  these blush tassel earrings from Asos. Oh and these green heels. Can it get any better? They are Anne Klein and out of stock now. Sorry! 🙂

Pleats and Flowers

I would’ve never opted for this outfit combo 5 years ago. My mantra had always been to balance the proportions of the outfit. If the top is big and flowy, the bottoms should be slim and fit and the vice versa. Why you ask? Because I’m not your average skinny girl. I’m curvy and have always been. I love my curves but sometimes it gets tricky to dress up when you love a piece of clothing but your body shape doesn’t agree with it. So you got to balance it out. This helps accentuate the curves and doesn’t make you look like an apple with a head and legs! So well, here we are.
This year all I want to do is wake up everyday and break my own set notions. I feel like all these boundaries that I have created for myself, must be taken down. All our lives we set these limits for ourselves – we must not do this, do that or I won’t ever wear this or that etc. and all that crap. Time to break it all and set yourself free. 🙂
P.S. Would you believe if I tell you I found this gem of a skirt for merely 12 bucks lying in the sale section of H&M. I lucked out, right?
P.P.S. No make up (except sunscreen), since I wanted the flowers to do the talking. Just kidding.. forgot to wear my lipstick! Ha. 😉
P.P.P.S. {Promise this is the last one} I cut my hair short (again, I know!) to a short bob (think Winona Ryder in Square Dance minus the bangs). So this is the last post with longer hair, or a pony if you will. Ok bye.

The Fun of Life

I can’t even begin to tell you how awesome this summer is going for me. But before that, let me thank you all for your immense support and feedback with regards to my last post. I’m glad so many of you enjoyed reading it.
Coming back to today’s post, my mom is in town (well she has been for a while), and time is just flying. Everyday is so much fun. Now that a cute Little Missy has also joined our (ladies) club, fun has multiplied tenfold, if I may say. 😉
I have so many pictures memories to share with you all, and I will, I promise, it’s just that I try to give my daughter my undivided attention. Even if that means some time off from social media. Their is no fun in life if you don’t live in the moment, am I right? 🙂

Back in May

I know June is almost over and we are stepping in to July (my birth month aka the ‘best’ month 😉 ). But I have to share with you all that we went to Miami in the month of May to celebrate 5 blissful years of our marriage. Truth be told, I loved the getaway, but was uncomfortable most of the time. I was in my first trimester of the pregnancy hence my taste buds were horrible and exhaustion was at its peak. Plus the acne wasn’t helping either. The bump wasn’t much visible yet, hence I was able to wear all my usual stuff. The thing is, we planned this vacation a few months in advance so we did not want to cancel it. Nevertheless, all went well! Honestly, I love the fact that I am so close to beaches now that I live in Orlando. We spend every alternate Sunday on a beach.

The yellow and black color combo worked really well. I like how the yellow color strikes more with a black base.

Dress: Forever 21 | Sandals: Franco Sarto | Bag: H&M
This dress is my personal favorite for vacations. It’s light, sexy and summer appropriate. Sometimes I also wear it as a cover up over my bikini.

Nothing pleases me more than a maxi these days. The ease and comfort is what I look for when travelling. Specially now that I am pregnant, maxi dresses are the only thing that I want to wear, all the time. Can you blame me!

These are selfies. Unfortunately, I do not have a full length view of this dress. Anyhow, the off shoulder style gave my enough room to breath, feel sexy and enjoy the sunny weather! What more one could ask for? 😉
