Cocooned

Feels good to be back. I think of blogging almost daily, but then life happens. And then taking care of this body is an extra effort altogether. So much has changed since my last post. My Baby Shower happened. I entered third trimester of this pregnancy. Countdown has begun; 10 weeks left for my bubby to arrive! Just the thought gives me thrills! The anxiety of being a mother, the sleepless nights waiting for me, the love at first sight with my mini human – how can I not wait anxiously! Frankly, I’m scared too. This isn’t going to be easy (or fun) all the time, but I don’t care. When I feel the baby move and kick, all these fears vanish somehow. The motherly instincts are slowly kicking in.. 😉
Wearing a cocoon dress from Old Navy, which (again) is not a maternity dress. Just a regular dress with lots of room to accommodate my basketball belly!
P.S. 30 weeks pregnant today!

All Basic in Chicago

Comfort was my main concern for this vacation (considering the pregnancy). I simply wanted to be able to walk comfortably and not feel out of breath, or care about the shoes hurting my feet or not supporting my back and legs with enough cushion etc. Hence, I packed my reliable white pair of shoes. They are trendy, they go with everything, and kept my feet (and back) happy.
Being 7 months pregnant has literally compelled me to dig my closet for loose fitting blouses and swinging dresses. This dress is an year old (or more I guess), and was perfect for my vacation day out. The weather in Chicago was perfect. No humidity, no heat, just perfect Fall weather. The mornings and evenings were a little chilly and the days were not that warm – just perfect. It reminded me of my Boston days. I miss that. Le Sigh..!!
Oh and I finally entered my third trimester (feels like an achievement to be honest!). The baby has become more active and keeps kicking all-the-time. Sometimes the kicks are so strong, they make my belly jump! Specially, when I sit down to eat, I constantly feel the kicks. It feels quite unusual (rather weird) when you are eating and something someone is kicking and moving inside your belly. Oh the joys of pregnancy..!! It never ends.

I am on a MISSION. Yes. The mission is to achieve the fittest body possible! Haha.. it sounds like I have never been fit, but it’s not like that. I have always been on the slim side since I workout regularly but these days I am reeeeeally in to fitness!! It stays on my mind round the clock. No matter what I do, where I go, I am always thinking of how doing this or eating that will affect my fitness goal!

The goal is not to lose weight.. (Though I know that will happen eventually), but the goal is to be fit, have an excellent stamina, a strong body, an active state of mind! And it’s not easy. Trust me, it’s not. But it’s not impossible too. It requires a lot of dedication and motivation. It requires a life long commitment! And I have committed to my body. Nothing is more important to me than my body – – no ice cream, no donuts, nothing! I feel the fire inside me. It’s burning.. And I will do anything possible to keep it burning.

I will also update my progress on the blog! So that I am accountable to myself. Till then, enjoy the OOTD pictures.

White on White

White on white thrills me, excites me and then scares me too! Everyone I see these days is wearing something (or everything) white. Not sure if you noticed, but I have always maintained a certain distance with the white-on-white rend. This trend is challenging I say (at least for me). First let me lay out the basic issues –

  • An overall white outfit does not help in highlighting/accentuating your curves. I feel it highlights the imperfections more..
  • Then comes the keep it clean challenge. The moment you spill something on your dress/pants etc., you are done for the day! And who likes stained clothes anyway.. they also spill the secrets of your last meal..
  • If you are a true survivor and you manage to survive the ‘spilling’ part, how do you deal with the transparency issue? (This is my biggest problem). ‘Most’ of the white clothes (tops/dresses) are ‘see through’. And I don’t like wearing ‘see through’ clothes (unless that’s what I am aiming for!).

By luck (or by chance) if you ‘actually’ manage to find something ‘really’ good, which can be worn under the sun and is not ‘see through’ and which also does not highlights your body parts in incorrect places, then ladies – you are lucky! Very lucky I say.

So this weekend I took the challenge and wore a white top and white shorts! Yes, they were not see through, and no I did not spill anything on my outfit. Kudos to me, I know! 🙂

Cheers..
