Red and Short

It was a rainy Sunday for me today (still pouring heavily outside) here in Boston. It has gotten cold (I’m lounging at home in a sweater and sweatpants 😦 ). I feel warm looking at these pictures from last weekend when it was sunny to be able to wear  dress. My fears are coming true! It’s getting colder day by day! 😐

Anyways, this day we visited the Portland Head Light. If you are in the New England area, you must check this place out! With a view of the ocean, lots of rocks to sit and stare (at the ocean), a little bit of hiking (cue: if wear right shoes), a place specially for picnic doers.. it was a nice getaway from the city craze! A beautiful drive on a beautiful sunny day.. why can’t everyday be like this?

This dress is soft, short, it’s red (and blue, again..I know!) and drapes my (sexy 😉 ) body beautifully. It’s one of my favorite (from my closet), if you ask me!

I just had a haircut the weekend these pictures were taken. I always try to cover my hair with a hat or scarf after haircuts. This may sound strange but I don’t like immediate post haircut phase. Though I like getting a haircut, because I like to experiment and understand the importance of a regular trim. But I don’t like how it becomes difficult to style them immediately the next wash after the haircut.. 😦 Hence usually after around 2 weeks of getting a haircut is actually when I start to like it. And then 4 weeks later, it’s time again to get them trimmed! It’s a vicious circle you see.

Plus I really respect women who experiment with their hair. It takes a lot of courage. I know this from personal experience! I know some people never-ever-ever change their hair. They have this fear of non-acceptance. What if this doesn’t look good..?? what if people don’t like it..?? Well I say our whole life is about ‘what-ifs‘. We never know the outcome of anything until it happens, but then we still take risks/decisions. Some times we fail and sometimes we pass with flying colors. Well the same applies to everything. Just go ahead and do it if you really want it.. Don’t just sit and admire other women who experiment. Go and be one!

Boho Cool Extras

I am in Boston and well settled (in case if you were wondering 😉 ). Well this was one crazy move, that is all I can say! And a Big Gasp!! Since I have never-ever-in my life witnessed this much snow altogether at one place, at one point of time! I am a summer person and I used to dislike winters (even as a child), and look where God put me now! Talk about irony. Anyhow, you gotta do what you gotta do, right!

A couple of weeks ago, while in D.C., we experienced a very warm weekend and that’s when I took out my loving skirt from the bottom of my ‘favorite skirts’ stash. I can only dream of such warm weather right now. I added some light layers and a hat. That’s it. Perfect for a coffee or movie outing.

P.S. How do you like the new blog layout! 🙂

Exercise Does Magic to Your Body

Yes I have been neglecting this pretty little blog for a quite few days now! It’s just that I am way toooo occupied in my professional and personal life these days.. But as they say, better late than never! Right? Right.

Ok, so when you look at these pictures do you see some difference? Something different in me.. maybe? Do you notice I am looking quite slimmer than before!! 😀

Not to brag, but I feel A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Not sure how much weight I have lost (because I really DO NOT believe that your weight describes how ‘fit’ you are), but I certainly feel very light! It’s only my third month with these Bootcamp classes in my city, and I already feel so strong and so energetic all the time! This feeling is the best feeling in the world (better than the post-shopping high!). REALLY 🙂

I promised that I will keep you all updated on my journey, and here I am.. keeping my promise like always.. Do you see the happiness on my face here? That is what you get when you do something with full dedication! When I started working out, I had no goals, no expectations. To say the least, I did not see any results for the first 5 weeks. 5 WEEKS!! Some people lose hope by then. But I kept going. Then slowly and gradually I started seeing the difference in my performance. I don’t get tired so easily, push-ups are no more ‘an extremely painful’ exercise for me! I am so much better at running now. My pants fit me differently.

Now, it is like a routine.. If I skip a work-out session, I make up for it on the weekend! But I religiously work out four times a week. And hard work pays.. It did for me! It will for you too.  And I understand that this is just the beginning! I have a very, very long way to go. So what are you waiting for?? Go! Workout. Run. Play. Swim. Dance! Do whatever you like! Don’t let that gym membership go to waste. YOU paid for it. It’s your hard earned money. You better make very good use of it!

And trust me, your body will thank you in soooo many ways. Just be regular. Show up everyday. Don’t expect to see the results the same day or the same week. It takes time. Have patience.

I could only push you (through my words), it’s YOU who has to do the ‘main’ work! So good luck!

I wore this dress to the farmer’s market this weekend. I love, love, love farmer markets. I may never have said it on the blog before, but I do LOVE them! They take me back to my childhood when my father and I used to go to these farmer markets every Sunday to buy groceries and fruits! 🙂
