I only packed this one pair of jeans for my trip (and this sweatshirt, a dress and this shirt – that’s it… oh plus tons of skin products!!! ). This jeans is almost four years old. It was just a weekend trip and I knew I was going to do a lot of walking, so you see no heels, nothing extraordinaire, no shenanigans! Give me shoes over flats any day and I’m a happy girl.
One chance and I was back at the King Street – my favorite street (in Alexandria) that ends with a river. After travelling to so many places, I can say – If given a chance, I would love to get settled in this city! Actually I can never get tired of sight-seeing in this city. I love everything here – Everything. I miss living here.. now I am mere a ‘weekend visitor’! Ughh.. sigh….

One must not overlook the possibilities of a scarf. I repeat – MUST NOT.
Adding color to an outfit should not be limited to lipsticks, or handbags only. A scarf does the job quite well too. I thought of wearing my in a little different way this time (mind you – there are thousands of other ways). Anyhow, for this post I am styling my scarf as blouse. Well, I did nothing but tied up two ends around my neck and the other two ends at my back. The blazer cleverly covered the messed up knots behind. That’s it. You are done. And yeah try to mix prints and textures if you like.. go wild! I kept it simple for today though!
Tip – During summers, skip the turtleneck entirely, and wear your scarf as a tube top as it is, or better, wear it over your bikini! Voila.. style has a new meaning!! And would it be wrong to say that this outfit will suit the lovely occasion of Valentines too!
Also, I just got my hair trimmed (ah.. nothing major just a regular trim). I am sticking to this plan for now.

All our last plans failed when it kept on raining non-stop till afternoon. I was heartbroken and felt so angry (but at who??) that we had to stay in the hotel and do nothing but wait for the rain to stop!
Shopping was not on our to-do list for this vacation specially. We agreed on enjoying it to the fullest with a free mind and a light suitcase. We almost achieved our target, but the weather betrayed us. We had no other option but to spend the last day in a mall or a museum. My sweet and loving husband is actually not that much in to museums as I am.. Though I gave him the idea of going to the local museum, he denied. Then we were left with no other option but to spend the day in a shopping mall. We then went to the closest Outlet Mall and the rest is history..
We Shopped! More than we should have.. Haha.. (that always happens with
He bought me not one but TWO handbags from Coach!! That’s my Anniversary Gift. He said ‘This is my gift to you for successfully putting up with me for 3 years!!’
Thank you husband and I love you (you already know that!). This is how our vacation ended. Then early next morning, we flew back to D.C. Few pictures we clicked while shopping –
Yes, that’s my gift!
