Back in May

I know June is almost over and we are stepping in to July (my birth month aka the ‘best’ month 😉 ). But I have to share with you all that we went to Miami in the month of May to celebrate 5 blissful years of our marriage. Truth be told, I loved the getaway, but was uncomfortable most of the time. I was in my first trimester of the pregnancy hence my taste buds were horrible and exhaustion was at its peak. Plus the acne wasn’t helping either. The bump wasn’t much visible yet, hence I was able to wear all my usual stuff. The thing is, we planned this vacation a few months in advance so we did not want to cancel it. Nevertheless, all went well! Honestly, I love the fact that I am so close to beaches now that I live in Orlando. We spend every alternate Sunday on a beach.

This white dress was my choice for our date night. I wanted to keep it romantic yet simple.

The yellow and black color combo worked really well. I like how the yellow color strikes more with a black base.

This dress is my personal favorite for vacations. It’s light, sexy and summer appropriate. Sometimes I also wear it as a cover up over my bikini.

Nothing pleases me more than a maxi these days. The ease and comfort is what I look for when travelling. Specially now that I am pregnant, maxi dresses are the only thing that I want to wear, all the time. Can you blame me!

These are selfies. Unfortunately, I do not have a full length view of this dress. Anyhow, the off shoulder style gave my enough room to breath, feel sexy and enjoy the sunny weather! What more one could ask for? 😉

Global Citizen

Are you excited for the 4th of July? Well, I can’t wait enough to drive back to D.C. to be with my husband and family. Like last year, we plan to watch the parade and the fireworks this year too! Back in India, I grew up in Kanpur where our Independence Day celebrations were limited to the usual programs in school ending with the flag hosting ceremony. So growing up, I never got to watch a live parade, which is why today when I think of it, I get excited. Even though I am not in my own country or this Independence celebration may not be ‘my own’, but then I think how does it really matter? Just because I was not born here, doesn’t mean I don’t think of this country my own! I live here, work here, eat here, earn here, pay taxes – its definitely my own! Plus one only feels the way he wants to! And frankly I consider myself as a ‘global citizen’ and would love to be a part of the Independence day celebrations.

With that thought, I am wishing my fellow Americans a very Happy Independence Day!

P.S. This is what I wore to see the parade last year.. nothing fancy, just easy!

Sweet Summer

I believe I have been to the beach quite a few times this summer! I mean it’s unusual for me mainly because firstly I am not a beach person and secondly I don’t live on a sea facing city!

It’s just that the drive to the beach is more interesting to me. Husband and I enjoy our favorite music in the car, then we talk, talk, talk and then talk some more!! We religiously make a stop for our  coffees.. We also pack food from home.. so we kinda eat healthy and hang out at the beach too!! (win-win)!!

This time we visited the Virginia beach! Check out all my previous beach looks from this year –

Puerto Rico – Remember the sexy short black number??

Rehoboth Beach – Well the pink maxi dress was quite airy 😉

Coney Island – So what if I wore lose fitting pants to this beach??

And if you ask me which one is my favorite.. well that would be a little difficult to answer! But then OK.. for the sake of it, I will say Coney Island was the best among all 😉

A few pictures we clicked that bright sunny day.. White and Blue colors usually gel well with the sea background.. what do you think?
