Don’t ask ‘How are you?’

The other day I was watching a TV show (Pretty Little Liars – to be exact) and something said in the show really struck with me. It was about when we meet and greet someone, we generally ask ‘how are you’, but do we really want to know how are they doing? Or we want them to say what we want to hear.. which is ‘I am fine/great/doing well blah.. blah.. Do we really care if they are fine? They might be stressed, sad, searching for a job, or struggling to meet daily means, unhappy or worse depressed – but do we really want to listen to that level of an honest answer? Well, I don’t think we do want to listen to all that personal life crisis (and trust me we all are going through one or the other kind)… nobody’s life is perfect. Then what is the meaning of asking such a baseless question! From now on, I will switch to ‘How has your day/morning been so far?’ This will make others think and (perhaps) give an honest answer..!! 🙂

I wore this top in summers, and plan to rock it in Fall too. This color is so dynamic..! Well, these pictures were not taken very recently as you can see (I got my hair cut shorter after these were taken plus we don’t have skirt-worthy weather anymore). 😦

Long-Awaited

‘Tis the season of pumpkin spiced lattes (I prefer salted caramel mocha though 😉 ), banana walnut bread, leather skirts, plum lipsticks, black boots and big fluffy scarves! It’s the Fall season, my favorite of all!!

Out of the above mentioned, I am sporting at least three here on the blog today. I eyed this skirt for last whole winter season, but never bought it since it was way above my budget. Generally, when buying clothing items, I have a threshold (to not buy anything above 70 USD). This keeps my budget in check and saves me from splurging.  But then came spring, and the prices slashed! I finally got my hands on it. It’s a wrap-around skirt, and I love the texture and the color! Yes, the downside was I couldn’t wear it last year, but I have no regrets since I will be wearing it so much more this year! Leather never goes out of style. Call it reward for my patience 😉

Neon Pink Shirt

I only packed this one pair of jeans for my trip (and this sweatshirt, a dress and this shirt – that’s it… oh plus tons of skin products!!! ). This jeans is almost four years old. It was just a weekend trip and I knew I was going to do a lot of walking, so you see no heels, nothing extraordinaire, no shenanigans! Give me shoes over flats any day and I’m a happy girl.

One chance and I was back at the King Street – my favorite street (in Alexandria) that ends with a river. After travelling to so many places, I can say – If given a chance, I would love to get settled in this city! Actually I can never get tired of sight-seeing in this city. I love everything here – Everything. I miss living here.. now I am mere a ‘weekend visitor’! Ughh.. sigh….
